Airports used to be bland spaces with Hudson News books, some fast food places with special and expensive menus and lots of chairs. Before the smartphone became ubiquitous, finding a plug to charge devices was like going on Safari. That’s no longer the case. Airports now have wi-fi, plenty of plugs, and enough shops and restaurants to put many shopping malls to shame. The reason is simple: money. Airports even have ways of separating you from your dollars/euros/yuan faster than ever before.
