You may have noticed, when shopping on Amazon, that the goods on offer can be rather strange or come from companies and brands you’ve never heard of before. Amazon opened its platform to 3rd party sellers several years ago but now is seeing an uptick in knock-off Chinese products or products that end up being nothing like what was pictured in the listing. Amazon claims to be doing good work to slow the spread of these counterfeit products but the problem still remains and could be a big brand problem for Amazon. For Amazon’s customers, they aren’t likely to associate a bad product with the actual seller, they’ll associate it with Amazon.
