Americans fled cities in droves when the coronavirus pandemic arrived in March. As urban professionals leave the city for the country side, car sales are up. The commute is back in style and people are opting for their own vehicle and a detached house rather than public transportation and dense housing in cities. For car dealerships, this summer was a tremendous opportunity to move plenty of cars (if they had any to sell) and to earn all sorts of new customers who had previously not bothered with owning a car full-time.
