When we think of body image, most people conjure an image of an anorexic teenage girl who just can’t get skinny enough for her own expectations. However, body image issues also deeply effect men and boys.

Although the male body doesn’t have as many variations as the female body, not all male bodies are the same. There are a variety of factors that determine the shape of each part and that can leave guys wondering if their body is normal or just not feeling confident in how they look because it doesn’t look like what they see in media.

Certainly, there is much we can do to improve ourselves. We can eat sensibly or workout. There has been an obsession with men working out and it seems like there are so many people offering their secret fitness advice. However, that is no longer just targeted at women. Increasingly, it’s being pushed towards men. Like it or not, there is an ideal male physique and even guys who look “perfect” might not actually feel that way about themselves.

BBC 3 did an interesting look into this phenomena and they did it in the best way possible: nude.
