When you discuss poverty in almost any context there are many people, often conservative, but not always, that believe the problem with poor people is that they have some terrible moral flaw that has made them poor. So-called, “good people” aren’t poor. However, that belies the real problem underneath poverty and that is the lack of cash.
There are plenty of good and decent people that are poor or end up poor. Poverty can happen to anyone. In this great Ted Talk, poverty is redefined, not as something wrong with people who simply make bad choices or are a victim of circumstance but simply as people without cash. It’s not about them, it’s chiefly about their bank account.
